Topic: Progressive Transition
The Latin American Art Triennial of New York, 2019 edition, in terms of its curatorial aim, explores transition as the action and effect of moving from one state to another. The Progressive Transition, the established theme, has overflowed its denotation to become, in a definite sense, an exercise that drives transformation in the arts and culture milieu and among its practitioners. One important factor that we propose to explore is the artists’ need to “feel part of something” that can likewise be recognized and defined by others. The exposition events that comprise the Latin American Art Triennial of New York present the theme of the Progressive Transition from a new and specific point of view, which does not seek to prescribe a practice, rather to situate itself within the context and its broad repercussions. The art chosen for the 2019 edition represents the artist operating within the conceptual landscape of a general transition, appraised as a progressive expression, one of artistic-historic linkages, at the personal or collective level.
New York Latin American Art Triennial 2019 Application
New York, NY – El comité organizador de la Trienal de Arte Latinomericano de New York (formalmente Bienal de Arte Latinoamericano del Bronx) convoca a todos los artistas latin@mericanos alrededor del mundo a su próxima edición durante los días del mes de septiembre 14, 2019 hasta diciembre 30, 2019. La trienal de Arte bajo el auspicio del Festival Hispano del Bronx Inc. da inicio a un evento diseñado para estimular la labor creativa en el intento de establecer el arte como un lenguaje común en varias localidades de New York.
Esta convocatoria pretende reunir una variedad en medios en los que se incluye la fotografía, escultura, electro digital, pintura (incluye graffiti sobre pared,) video, graficas, medio/mixto, performance, instalaciones entre otros.
Tema: Transición Progresiva
La Trienal de Arte Latinoamericano de la ciudad de Nueva York, en su intención curatorial, examina la transición como la acción y efecto de pasar de un estado a otro distinto. “Transición Progresiva”, como temática ha excedido desde lo específico de su definición, hasta convertirse, inextricablemente, en un ejercicio impulsador de una transformación dentro del ámbito cultural artístico y sus exponentes creativos. Un factor importante que proponemos examinar cuidadosamente, es la necesidad del artista de buscar “sentirse ser parte de algo” que a la vez se pueda reconocer y definir por los demás. La serie de eventos expositivos que comprenden la Trienal de Arte Latinoamericano de Nueva York presenta el tema (Transición Progresiva) desde un punto de vista nuevo y específico, que no busca prescribir una práctica, sino situarse en el contexto y sus repercusiones de carácter general. El arte escogido para esta (edición 2019) representa al artista operando dentro de una cartografía conceptual de transición general valorizada, como una expresión progresiva a nivel personal o colectivo, de vinculación artístico-histórica.
