The gallery is pleased to present The Four Seasons, a totalising solo exhibition of new paintings by British artist Christopher Page. The powerfully bright canvases at the heart of the installation conjure the illusion of framed screens of indeterminate depth, the illusory frames seeming to have soft light cast across them, while the interiors appear both infinitely deep and paradoxically shallow. The paintings conjure four clashing color worlds that bleed onto the walls and into what looks like soft modular furniture that snake around the gallery space as they might in a colorful corporate lounge. These clashing color worlds are like four unnatural ‘seasons’ that together produce a jarring totality that is as seductive as it is unsettling. Christopher Page (b. 1984, UK)
lives and works in London. He received his MFA from Yale School of Art, 2011 and has exhibited at Museu de Arte Moderna, Rio de Janeiro and The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. He has taken part in the Instituto Inclusartiz residency program in Rio de Janeiro, and the Container Artist Residency 01.
